”Just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love.” Ephesians 1:4.
We are set free, now we realize that we have been chosen! Paul writes to the Ephesians, reminding them God has blessed them “with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, just as he chose us “in Christ” before the foundation of the world.” God “destined us for adoption,” Paul writes, “as his children through Jesus Christ.”
The words “in Christ” appear ten times in the book of Ephesians. “In Christ” we become children of God. In God’s great realm there are no grandchildren, there are no stepchildren, there are no illegitimate children, because each of us is a child of God “in Christ”! We are set free. We are chosen. There is great freedom in a feeling of “chosenness.”
The important thing for all of us to remember is that when we stand before God’s throne, our lives will be measured not by any dividing line or what we have gained, but by what we have been given and what we have given “in love”. “He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world… He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ…”
God has blessed us, but only for one reason that we might be a blessing to others. Unto whom much is given, much is required. May the good Lord guide and help us to share our many blessings “in Christ, in Love”, In Jesus name, Amen!
