Set apart for God-like living

“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm… But now you are free from the power of sin. You have become a servant for God. Your life is set apart for God-like living. The end is life that lasts forever.” Galatians 5:1; Romans 6:22.

The human heart remains free in one regard: free to choose whatever it desires. But as at this day, most human heart is corrupted and enslaved by evil. So, it does not naturally desire to do what honors God. All our thoughts, words, and actions are tainted in various degrees with prideful sin and rebellion against God. So even though we are free to choose, most of us freely choose sin continually as a habit of nature, see Job 15:4; Romans 6:19; Matthew 12:33-35. What a situation, yet, as bad as it may sound “the final consequence of our sin against God is hell” i e. a state of total and unending disconnection and separation from God and all that is good, a place of unhindered and perpetual bondage to unrestrained evil, horror, and suffering resulting from everyone doing all their selfish and sinful hearts’ desires, no matter what harm it may cause to others.

Yet, God in His true love sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to come to earth and willingly die in the place of we sinful humans i.e. to absorb all our sin, rebellion, and wrongdoing. Therefore, all who entrust their complete life to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins will be saved from their bondage to sin and given eternal life in Him and enjoy an intimate, personal connection and relationship with God himself, See Romans 8:1. Verse 36 says..if the Messiah we are preparing to celebrate again this Month- who abideth ever in the Father’s bosom, and fills the house with his glory, and is the Heir of all things – make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Are you enjoying this freedom, or otherwise? Think about it. Peace be unto you!
