”No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.” Matthew 5:15.
Christ gives us a light to carry into the world. There is light that floods a room and reveals that which is hidden. There is light that shines as a reminder of eternal hope. There is another kind of light. It is the search light of compassion and concern for people. It is a light of a loving God who will not let us go. Christ’s light comes into our lives when we ask for God’s love and forgiveness. Then we are called to allow God’s light to shine through us, otherwise we are not in the picture or worst lose the picture.
Have we lost our picture? At times we may lose our picture, but Christ’s light can help us get our picture back into focus. And we can share Christ’s love and light with others, so that they can also regain a vision of their own picture of life and hope. On this last day of Year 2017 and for the remaining Years of our lives, may God help us to keep our focus on HIM for right proportion of current, and be the light as HE desire illuminate the World with us in existence. In Jesus’ name, Amen! Shalom!
