“..Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;” Roman 6:3-6.
Is it important that you know this? Paul’s answer, After giving his summary explanation—Dead men don’t sin—he asks, “Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?” “Do you not know?” Have you not been taught? Surely you know these things, Ah! Surely someone explained to you what your baptism means, didnt they? In other words, Paul believes that this is important to know and that it is surprising when Christians don’t know it (you are still in the dark if you dont know the essence of confession and baptism). So, you need to know this truth, die to sin totally, and live a true Christ-like life as expected of you. See, if ministers have failed you and not taught you this, let’s grow now in the knowledge and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). Its not too late. Plead to GOD for your redemption now while you still can. Peace be unto You!
